Capt. Cooper Hartmann – Seadrift, Texas

Captain Cooper Hartmann was born in Johnson City, Texas, and far from the salt, but that didn’t keep him from finding it. As a kid, Cooper would make the push for the Texas Coast with his dad. With each trip his passion for catching reds and specks grew. So much so, that he even turned down a college baseball scholarship to become a guide.

Capt. Cooper received his USCG captain’s license in 2005 and began guiding in Rockport, Texas. He now lives in Seadrift, Texas, where he is a contract fishing and duck hunting guide for Bayflats Lodge. Capt. Cooper is also an avid redfish tournament angler all along the Texas Coast.

Kurtis Wydick – Ingleside, Texas

Kurtis Wydick was born and raised in a small town in Southeast Kansas, and was outdoors from day one! As a kid, Kurtis grew up bass and catfishing nearby cow ponds, strip pits, and local lakes. After attending college, Kurtis moved to the South Texas salt where he now faced the learning curve of this new fishery. It didn’t take long until he hooked up to his first redfish – marsh mania set in!

Although Kurtis has only been fishing the coast for five years, he has always had the competitive nature of a tournament angler. For the last two years he has entered as many local fishing tournaments as possible, and has tallied up some impressive showcases. His track record includes a fifth place finish in the 2017 KATS Saltwater Tournament, a third place finish in the 2017 Auto Nation Roundup, and a first place finish in the 2018 Mid-Coast Electric Annual Fishing Tournament.

Kurtis’ favorite lure is the Flex Mullet.
